Eric Bishop, a postman in Manchester, is going through a difficult period: family problems, romantic regrets, and a loss of direction. Overwhelmed by his two delinquent stepsons and in conflict with his daughter, he gradually sinks. One evening, under the influence of a joint, he imagines Eric Cantona, his idol, who becomes a kind of guide and encourages him to take control of his life again. Thanks to this support, Eric regains confidence: he gets closer to Lily, confronts his stepsons, and tries to put his life back in order. But the situation becomes complicated when a gang leader blackmails one of the boys. Humiliated and then overwhelmed by events, Eric follows Cantona's advice: ask his friends for help. Together, they mount an operation to neutralize the thugs and protect his family. Finally, Eric manages to restore the situation, and the family finds peace when his daughter succeeds at university.
