Looking for Eric is an international co-production directed by Ken Loach, released in 2009 and screened at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18 of the same year.

Eric Bishop, a postman in Manchester and a football fan, is going through a difficult period: separated from his second wife, he has to manage his stepsons alone, the eldest of whom associates with criminals and hides a weapon at home. While babysitting his granddaughter, he reconnects with his ex-wife Lily and confronts his past.

In despair and having suicidal thoughts, he is supported by the imaginary appearance of his idol, footballer Éric Cantona, who helps him get his life back on track.
