The Red Turtle (Reddo Tātoru: Aru Shima no Monogatari), directed by Michael Dudok de Wit and released in 2016, is a Franco-Belgian-Japanese animated film.

It tells the story of a man shipwrecked on a desert island who meets a mysterious red turtle that transforms into a woman.

Critically acclaimed, the film was screened in the "Un Certain Regard" section at the Cannes Film Festival 2016, where it received a special award, as well as several other awards at various festivals.
