Gregg Araki Film Collection (France Inter) - The Doom Generation / Nowhere
The Doom Generation:
Jordan and Amy, two punk and rebellious teenagers from the depths of the United States, randomly meet Xavier, a strange individual, at a wild party. He then involves them in a series of bloody murders while strange events pursue them[1], gradually plunging them into a psychedelic nightmare as the young couple turns into a ménage à trois.
Nowhere:
The film follows several teenagers through drugs, sex, and love. An 18-year-old, Dark, despairs over the infidelity of his girlfriend Mel, who is also dating Lucifer. Dark begins to fantasize about Montgomery, and about the S&M couple formed by Kriss and Kozy.
Dark's best friend, Cowboy, is looking for his boyfriend Bart, while Dingbat is in love with Ducky, who is himself in love with Alyssa, who dreams of the biker Elvis... Racine-like chains thus complicate the film's plot.
All of this takes place in a crazy and punk universe, which proclaims the decadence of American youth.
