For the music of Rois et Reine, Arnaud Desplechin enlisted composer Grégoire Hetzel, who composed the soundtrack urgently based on the director's intentions, notably inspired by Georges Delerue, Bernard Herrmann, and Maurice Ravel. The music blends several styles: classical (with works by Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach), hip-hop and electro (including tracks by DJ Mehdi, Marley Marl, and the group Suprême NTM), as well as Klezmer music performed by David Krakauer. This musical diversity accompanies the characters and certain key scenes of the film.
