The Red Turtle is a French-Belgian-Japanese animated film written and directed by Michael Dudok de Wit, released in 2016.

An animated film telling the tale of a man shipwrecked on a desert island where he meets a mysterious red turtle that transforms into a woman, the film was very well received by critics and was notably part of the "Un Certain Regard" selection in competition for the Caméra d'Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. It ultimately received the special "Un Certain Regard" award there. The film also received several awards at other festivals.
